Choose your career
  • Business development & finance
You’ll get to take part in planning the activities that will shape our future. We drive investment programmes in areas such as offshore and onshore wind, bioenergy, solar, and battery storage, and you’ll find yourself doing business on a scale you’ve barely dared to dream of while working alongside leading experts in your field.

Typical background: Master’s degree in business, finance, strategy, engineering or law.
  • Digital & IT

You’ll get to take part in shaping a green and intelligent future. You’ll gain unique expertise as you work on IT projects ranging from contributing to the digital infrastructure of the world’s largest offshore wind farms to analysing data to forecast the daily operations of our Danish power stations, wind turbines, electric boilers and solar PV.

Typical background: master’s degree in IT or business.

  • Engineering

You’ll join a world leader in offshore wind and biomass-fired power stations operating in a constantly evolving industry. You’ll work on cutting-edge technologies to push the boundaries of what’s possible within renewable energy on the world’s largest projects – anywhere on the globe.

Typical background: master’s degree in structural, mechanical, electrical or management engineering.

Ørsted Graduate. The journey.

The Ørsted Graduate Programme is a two-year journey divided into three main tracks:

  • Career Accelerator

Career Accelerator is the interaction you have with your senior career mentor and fellow graduates. Throughout the programme, you'll participate in development sessions and virtual action learning to support your on-the-job learning. A mentor will guide, encourage and challenge you to make the most of your talent. You’ll also build a widespread network of professional peers to support your future career.

  • Business Experience

The backbone of your learning and development where you’ll be responsible for your own projects and apply your expertise to influence decisions. You’ll handle international project work, build a cross-functional network and take real responsibility as you’ll get engaged in our day-to-day business decisions. Many of our graduates will complete one of their business rotations in another country.

  • Innovation Lab

Innovation has made Ørsted a global leader in renewable energy, and we’re constantly looking for ideas that’ll help us improve everything from processes to technology. As part of the Innovation lab track, we’ve partnered with SingularityU Nordic to give you insight into this area. SingularityU is responsible for leading your education, and you'll get to explore exponential thinking and learn how to master high-speed innovation.

We’ve teamed up with SingularityU Nordic

You’ll be able to immerse yourself in how to apply exponential technologies to create big ideas with the potential to have an impact on the future. We don’t know for sure what the future will bring, but we do know that we want to create a world that runs entirely on green energy, and that we’ll need bright and innovative minds to get us there.

Prepare your CV and most recent grade transcripts. Instead of writing a traditional cover letter, answer five motivational questions. The questions are:

  1. What knowledge, skills and/or previous experiences do you have that would make you a great Ørsted graduate? (max. 1500 characters with spaces)

  2. What is it about Ørsted that most motivates you to apply for the Ørsted Graduate Programme? (max. 1500 characters with spaces)

  3. The lessons we take from obstacles we encounter can be fundamental to later success. Recount a time when you faced a challenge, setback, or failure. How did it affect you, what did you do, and what did you learn from the experience? (max. 1500 characters with spaces)

  4. List three personal characteristics and explain how they enhance your ability to succeed on the Ørsted Graduate Programme. (max. 1500 characters with spaces)

  5. In Ørsted, we depend on different perspectives to grow globally. How would you bring different perspectives to Ørsted, and how would that help us deliver our vision of creating a world that runs entirely on green energy? (max. 1500 characters with spaces)

Go to the job advert and apply online from your desktop or mobile device. Sign in if you already have an account, or click ‘create an account’. Fill in the application form, answer the five questions, and upload your documents. You’ll receive a confirmation email shortly after you’ve submitted your application.

Application review process
We’ll carefully screen all applicants, looking at academic achievements, motivation, and mindset. You’ll always hear back from us, regardless of the outcome. If we think your profile is a match for the role and the programme, you’ll be invited for the first round of interviews.

Interview and tests
The best applicants will be invited for individual interviews and, if successful, you’ll attend our virtual Ørsted Graduate Assessment Day. During the assessment process, we’ll focus on your achievements, your expectations of the programme, and Ørsted’s culture and values. Tests will be used to supplement the information you provide in your application and at the interviews. You’ll always be given a chance to comment on any tests and provide further input.

Welcome to Ørsted
Congratulations! You’re part of the team – and we want you to feel welcome straightaway. Your onboarding journey starts before you arrive on your first day, and you’ll receive all the information and resources you need to succeed. We have a specific onboarding programme for graduates so you can meet your cohort and get thoroughly acquainted with the company and culture.
